SOMERSET RURAL MUSIC SCHOOL TAUNTON SATURDAY MUSIC CENTRE STAFF / DESK NEWS JANUARY 12 2008 WEEK ONE TODAY HAPPY NEW YEAR Claim forms with registers should be in folders today. Gwyn Flitters is in New Zealand for the next three weeks. Her Recorder group will be taken by Helen Spencer and I will take on her Aural TT as much as time allows. I will also take choir from 10.00 > 10.30 today. EXAM RESULTS Staff will by now know of examination results from last term. Please hand those in to me in order for them to be published abroad. I do know that Josie Cresswell (Helen Spencer) managed a Distinction in Grade 3 Recorders. While it is not my intention to tout on behalf of any specific board, staff who have not done so would be wise to check out the Trinity/Guildhall syllabus. The venue is attractive (King's Hall) and the sessions are often just that little bit later than, say, ASB .With time so limited on a Sat Am that feature in itself could hold an attraction. PROGRESS BOOKS Hopefully there will be sufficient for today. If not put in a request At the Desk. TRUSTEES/EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE The next meeting will be held on Thursday January 24, 7.30 @ Aylands Road. AGM Pressure of time meant that the AGM held last December was held over for completion until Saturday March 1st 11.00 for 11.15. The accounts for 2006/07 were also held over. These have now been completed-many thanks to Penny and Stephen Phillips-and will be published before the meeting. www.tasatmusac.org.uk It is worth giving the web site the once-over at times. This newsletter plus AGM notes, accounts etc new items etc are published, as will results once I have them. YOUNG CARERS Dates for this term will be given next week. CONCERT I am having an increasing number of staff who are asking for some Opportunity for students to show what they have been up to. February has been suggested and I will try and come up with some ideas for such an event to be held before the end of this term.
