SOMERSET RURAL MUSIC SCHOOL TAUNTON SATURDAY MUSIC CENTRE STAFF / DESK NOTES SATURDAY NOVEMBER 3 2007 WEEK FOUR TODAY Bev Trimmings away – pupils have been informed. Chris Ball away – Brian covering all pupils , so not available from 9.00 till 11.00 and 11.15 till 12.00. WELCOME Warm welcome to Abigail Todd who joins the String Team. Abigail will be teaching violin in M1 from 9.30. NEXT WEEK Stephen will be holding a String Ensemble in the Mary Smith from 12.00 till 12.30 or so. Other ensembles at the discretion of tutors. BREAK Any chance of some live music please? NB Suitable music – not too long, not too subtle and loud! NOVEMBER 17 / 24 We will be joined by a group of 12 Young Carers who will be coming from quite a wide area. Next term there will be two further sessions for another group and the Summer Term will follow the same pattern. Funding for these visits has been provided by Somerset Community Foundation. 11.00 Refreshments 11.15 Choice of Rock School / Art 12.00 Drama with June Billington / Art. The 12.00 Drama / Art Session is open to all students. June will be delighted to meet some familiar faces. Please tell all students. The session will finish at 12.50. We may also be joined by Cllr Richard Lees and his wife who hold the Arts Portfolio for TDBC plus Caroline Corfe the TDBC Arts Officer who is no stranger to Sat Am and has championed our cause over Grant awards. TRUSTEES/EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE At their meeting on October 31st it was decided to move the AGM from December 1st to the final session of the term, December 8th. At that meeting Stephen reported that 109 individual lessons were being taught but that we still had about 9 vacancies before we reached capacity from the list of 20 instrument/voice tutors.
